Playlist and Notes 12 December 2023
It is the annual Holiday Show, and the final broadcast of 2023.
Today’s show incorporates holiday music from reggae, blues, and jazz. With the
recent death of Shane MacGowan, I would have liked to include a tribute to the
lead singer of The Pogues but I do not have a “clean version” of “Fairytale of
New York” that would not violate FCC rules. Instead, we will enjoy some more
traditional music.
Have a wonderful holiday season and join me for a new semester of Shark
Jazz and Blues on January 23, 2024.

Notes:
See “Fairytale of New York” performed during
Shane MacGowan’s funeral at St. Mary of the Rosary Church in Nenagh, County
Tipperary, Ireland.
Originally, I had intended to play “Another Lonely Christmas” by Prince
and the Revolution but ran short on time.
