Notes:

Robert Johnson – Recorded 29 distinctive songs in 1936 and 1937 that have served as inspiration for generations of blues and rock musicians. Eric Clapton said Johnson was “the most important blues singer that ever lived” (LeVere 23).[1]

Johnny Shines – Traveled with Johnson, including places like Chicago, Texas, New York, Canada, Kentucky, and Indiana.
